About trina.ph

Hi, I'm Trina! I'm a lifelong multi-hobbyist, concert lover, traveler, and the person behind Trina.ph.

I've been blogging since 2009, long before I had any idea where the internet would take me. What started as a little corner of the internet eventually became a place where I could document the things I'm genuinely interested in, such as live music, travel, food, photography, and the random experiences that make life a little more interesting.

Why Trina.ph?

I've always been the type of person who takes too many photos, saves places on Google Maps, plans trips months in advance, and somehow still discovers something new along the way.

Trina.ph is where I put those things together. A personal editorial journal by covering concerts, travels, photography, food, and everything in between.

Some posts are about concerts I've attended and photographed. Some are travel diaries from places I've visited (South Korea is one of my favorite places to keep coming back to). Others are simply food, cafés, events, and little discoveries that I enjoyed enough to want to remember.

This isn't meant to be a perfectly curated travel guide or a serious music publication. It's more like my own little editorial space on the internet — a collection of experiences, photos, recommendations, and stories that I genuinely want to share.

Live Music

I've been going to concerts for years, and live music has always been one of the biggest parts of my life as a music junkie.

I've also had the opportunity to work as a concert photographer and contributor, which made me appreciate live shows from a slightly different perspective. There's something about trying to capture a moment onstage — from the lights and the crowd to the expressions and the energy — and knowing that you'll probably never get that exact moment again. When I look at my photographs, I want to remember exactly what happened and be able to relive the moment.

Here you'll find concert recaps, photos, videos, and memories from some of the shows I've attended in Manila and elsewhere.

Travel

The pandemic shifted my entire perspective and turned travel into a way of life. Since then, I made sure to step out of my comfort zone and go on trips every now and then that give me an excuse to explore, take photos, eat too much, and wander around with or without a particular plan.

As an introvert, I keep coming back to South Korea, particularly Seoul, so I've slowly built up my own collection of favorite places, cafés, neighborhoods, and experiences there.

Here you'll find travel diaries, itineraries, places I've enjoyed, practical tips, and the occasional "I found this place, and I don't want to gatekeep" post.

Food & Lifestyle

Not everything needs to be a grand adventure.

Sometimes it's a really good cup of matcha or coffee. A new café. A restaurant worth remembering. A pop-up event. A random weekend activity. Or something I came across and thought, "Okay, this is actually pretty cool."

That's where the Food & Lifestyle side of Trina.ph comes in.

Photography

Photography naturally became part of the way I document everything.

Most of the photos you'll see here are from places I've actually visited, concerts I've actually attended, or experiences I've personally been part of.

I don't necessarily consider myself a traditional photographer, although I used to work as a concert photographer. For me, taking photos is mostly about keeping a visual record of a moment and being able to look back at it years later.

Beyond The Blog

By day, I work in technology and consulting. It's a very different world from concerts, travel, and blogging, which is probably exactly why I enjoy having this little creative space on the side.

A Little More About Me

I'm someone who has always had way too many interests to fit neatly into one category.

I like concerts. I like traveling. I like taking photos. I like discovering food. I like planning trips. I like making lists. I like finding random places on Google Maps, whether they're new hip spots here in the Philippines or somewhere abroad. I like documenting things that other people might consider ordinary. I like cats and dogs. I like cute stuff with cats and dogs, and the list goes on~

As a millennial who grew up just when the internet became a thing, I was on every social media network and blogging platform. Name it, I've had it. But what I stuck with was Tumblr (I used to create typographies and screencaps as trinathestrange), and then eventually settled here in Blogspot.

Today, Trina.ph is simply the next version of that little corner of the internet.

Still me. Just a little more grown-up.
